Step into the life of a servant of Ancient Greece, tasked as keeper of the hearth. Build and maintain the fire or face the wrath of the house cook!
Challenges:
- Crafting an engaging narrative-based game in Twine
-Defining a fire-tending mechanics system
-Completing the project in two weeks
-Coding in JavaScript (no prior experience)
What I Learned:
-Writing a "choose-your-own-adventure" style narrative is different from linear dialogues
-How to create and implement a triangle based gameplay mechanics system
-The realistic process required to build and maintain a fire in real life
-Basic coding in JavaScript for Twine games
-How to embed open source GIFs in Twine
